So a little about me...
Well for starters I am a New Englander through and through and a mom. I love the first snow, and snowboarding, but look forward and treasure every minute of summer because I can't get enough of the sun. We do spartan races, tough mudders and probably have tried any mud race out there! I have one little dachshund with my husband that are our 3 kids.
I love motion graphics, I always wanted to work in this field. Movies and visual effects have always intrigued me and I am the type of person that likes to figure out how things work, and in this field once you head down the rabbit hole you get lost.
I started my motion design career a but late, but couldn't be happier to have finally made it here. I knew this is what I wanted to do year ago and took my first after effects course at NYC in 2001 then did nothing with it until I got laid off in 2014 and the end of that year signed up for School of Motion Animation Bootcamp beta and never looked back. I then signed up for Mograph Mentor and now 9+ years later, I am a TA for the SOM After Effects Kickstart and Animation Bootcamp Course. I work on all kinds of graphics and animation but mostly focus on explainer videos and sales videos. I try to complete a personal project or experiment as often as possible to keep learning, but will say it has become a bit harder now that I have a mini. The past three years I have headed the holiday card collaboration that includes as many SOM alumni that are interested (check out the video on my vimeo). This fall I am doing my first speaking engagement about animation and my career change at the Keyframe Conference in Boston!
I try plan casual meet-ups for Boston mograph people so if in Boston definitely hit me up so I can make sure you know when they happen! Bottom line is I finally love what I do and still have a lot to learn but love learning with everyone in the motion design community.
I have also started a blog called "No Plugin Way!" with a fellow mograph friend, Kevin Synder - check out weekly to see new posts as we tests plugins we have and want to learn or prevent from "collecting too much dust". - https://nopluginway.tumblr.com/
I am up for any type of animation so if you like to chat more about how I can help you get the video you want, definitely reach out I'd love to hear from you!
My many screens :)
